“A performer to keep an eye on in the future,” baritone Jesse Stock hails from the small town of Bennett, Iowa.  An up and coming talent, Mr. Stock’s resume includes several roles including Tonio in Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, Gianni Schicchi in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi,  Wozzeck (cover) in Berg’s Wozzeck, Marcello in Puccini’s La Bohème, Falstaff in Verdi’s Falstaff, The Bonze in Puccini’s Madama Butterfly, Jake Wallace in Puccini’s La fanciulla del West, Montano in Verdi’s Otello, The Baron in Bernstein’s Candide, Second Mate in Britten’s Billy Budd, Ping (cover) in Puccini’s Turandot, Minskman in Dove’s Flight, Capulet in Gounod’s Romeo et Juliette and Dougald MacDougald in Floyd’s The Sojourner and Mollie Sinclair.  He has been praised for having an “incredibly rich, mature sound and known for his  “vocal strength and boldness.” 


Mr. Stock has been featured in the Knoxville Opera studio program as well as Des Moines Metro Opera’s apprentice program.  He graduated with a Bachelor of Music from Simpson College and completed a Masters in Voice from The University of Tennessee. Recently, Jesse was seen as Tonio in Marble City Opera’s production of Leoncavallo’s Pagliacci, as well as covering the title role in Berg’s Wozzeck, the Baron and Grand Inquisitor in Bernstein’s Candide with Des Moines Metro Opera, the Second Mate in Des Moines Metro Opera’s production of Britten’s Billy Budd, as well as Marcelo in Puccini’s La Bohème with St. Petersburg Opera.  He has also been seen as the baritone soloist in Ein Deutsches Requiem, Bach’s Magnificat, and Handel’s Messiah with the Mercersburg Community Chorus. Jesse has also had the pleasure to be the baritone soloist in Orff’s Carmina Burana at both of his alma maters.
